Why a Hall of Fame for Helias?
In an effort to recognize outstanding individuals whose lives have helped to establish Helias High School as the excellent educational institution that it is today, the Helias High School Hall of Fame is being created. The Helias High School Hall of Fame selection committee will elect up to ten new members, who will be inducted in ceremonies on the Helias campus April 20, 2008. Candidates will be chosen on the basis of their personal accomplishments, civic and public contributions, and support of or involvement with activities of interest to the school.
Qualifications for candidacy to the Helias High School Hall of Fame are as follows:
- graduated from high school at least twenty years prior to induction
- has demonstrated loyalty and/or service to Helias after graduation
- has distinguished him/herself within his or her chosen field
- generally is a Helias/St. Peter's High School graduate, but not necessarily
- was an above average student in high school in academics, and/or in extra-curricular activities
- exhibits high moral standards to the credit of Helias High School..
Criteria 1 and 2 are mandatory. 3-6 will also be considered.
Individuals who were nominated for 2008 but not selected will remain as active nominations for 3 years.
