Kenneth B. Rowan, D.D.S., M.S. |
Kenneth B. Rowan, D.D.S., M.S., was born in Vancouver, Washington, the son of Barry and Clara Rowan.He is a 1964 graduate of Helias High School. Ken received his D.D.S. degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas School of Dentistry and an M.S. degree from St. Louis University Program in Orthodontics. He served as Dental Corps Captain in the United States Army. He served in Vietnam and is the recipient of a Bronze Star medal, United States Army. Ken is married to the former Lou Ann Marshall, and they are the parents of Sarah, Nathan, David and Michael, all of whom attended Helias. Ken and Lou Ann are members of St. Joseph Cathedral.
As a student at Helias, Ken was active in the Glee Club, basketball, golf, track and the Benildus Club. He was a member of the National Honor Society. Ken has continued to serve Helias, his community, profession and parish. He is a former president of the Jefferson City Optimist Club and former Lt. Governor of Missouri District Optimist Club. He is a member of numerous organizations including Jefferson City Area Dental Society (former president), Missouri Society of Orthodontists, Missouri Central District Dental Society, World Federation of Orthodontists, American College of Dentists and Charles H. Tweed International Society of Orthodontists where he serves as board member. Ken has served two terms as president of the Helias High School Foundation. He has been a member of the Advisory Board for the Foundation and a member of the Investment Committee for the Foundation. He has held offices with the Parish Council, St. Joseph Cathedral; Fourth Degree, Knights of Columbus; Knights of the Holy Sepulchre. Ken was president of St. Joseph Elementary Home and School Association.
Ken has received numerous honors and awards for his dedicated work and service. He is the recipient of St. Louis University Alumni Merit Award, and he is an Honor President Optimist International and Honor Lt. Governor of Missouri District Optimist International. He is president-elect of Charles H. Tweed International Orthodontic Society. Ken has been an orthodontist in private practice in Jefferson City since 1975.
