Announcing the 2008 Helias Hall of Fame presented for outstanding achievement and service to Helias High School.

Ann (Schnieders) Bax '80

Ann Schnieders Bax is the daughter of Don and Ruth Schnieders and is a 1980 graduate of Helias High School.  She is married to Bruce Bax, also a 1980 graduate.  Ann and Bruce are parents of Trenton, currently a senior at Helias, Taylor, currently a sophomore at Helias, and Haley, a 7th grader at St. Joseph Cathedral School.  Ann is sister to Donna, Joe, Sue, Teresa, Amy and Becky all of whom graduated from Helias High School.  Ann's parents had at least one child, sometimes three or four, attending Helias from the years 1974 through 1990.  Ann is a member of St. Joseph Cathedral Parish.

Ann was an active student throughout her Helias school days.  She was a member of the National Honor Society, was on the Homecoming Court and participated in numerous activities.  Ann attended Southwest Missouri State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing in 1984.  She worked for Modern Business Systems as Director of Advertising and Incentives until 1995 when she began work with the family-owned business, Don Schnieders Excavating Company, which Ann and Bruce purchased, with partners, when her parents retired.

Ann has served Helias in myriad ways.  She has been Helias Foundation Board vice president, board member and Helias Foundation Newsletter editor, Helias Foundation Fund Drive Volunteer, 2001 Helias Foundation Fund Drive Co-Chair and 2002 Helias Foundation Fund Drive Chair.  She has served the Mother's Club as co-vice president,  co-chair of the Football Concession and is currently co-president.  Ann was co-chair of the Homecoming Committee for the spectacular Helias High School Fifty-Year Celebration (Fifty Years of Faith) and served on the Helias Capital Campaign Fund Drive.  She was 2005 Helias Homecoming Dance co-chair and served her own 1980 class as co-chair for their Twenty Year Reunion.  Ann has served the Catholic community, church and school system for years in capacities too numerous to list in a short biography.  Helias has benefited greatly from her commitment and dedication.

"Ann Bax has worked tirelessly for the betterment of Helias High School and the students, many times behind the scenes and with little recognition for her long hours of work."
